ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - WATER TREATMENT - DUBLIN
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is an award winning international Design & Build
Contractor, who invests heavily in the development of their staff
They provide a wide range of construction services to infrastructure
sectors including civil engineering, water, water and wastewater
process, rail, power, natural resources, ground engineering,
structural steel and property development.
The successful candidate will work on Water and Wastewater Treatment
projects countrywide.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Contractor.
The successful candidate will join the Water business within the
Projects Department.
Our client are committed to developing our staff and our CPD Programme
is accredited by Engineers Ireland.
The position of an Electrical Engineer would suit a motivated,
practical and adaptable individual who has the ambition to gain
Chartered Engineer status and wishes to work in a progressive and
innovative contracting environment.
Working under the direct supervision of a Chartered Engineer, and in
conjunction with process and mechanical engineers the post holder will
support the delivery of a range of water projects across Republic and
Northern Ireland and the UK.
The design work will include design and planning of fusing and
circuitry for electrical power, instrumentation and building services
using AmTech or other software package, liaison with process plant
suppliers, our subcontractor partners across a range of water
projects.
DUTIES
Prepare specifications and scope of work for electrical equipment such
as water treatment pumps and blowers, power generators, MCC’s,
transformers, instrumentation, data systems etc.
Prepare electrical power and control cables interconnection block
diagrams
Carry out design calculations for cable-sizing, short circuit
calculations, lighting calculations, power balance studying etc.
Review of electrical layout drawings and instrumentation arrangements
Prepares sketches and performs engineering calculations
Preparation of instrument schematics, loop drawings and layout
drawings
Selection, specification and design of process instrumentation and
safety instrumented systems
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years’ experience
Electrical engineering background
Power transmission and low voltage distribution systems
PLC’s and HMI’s
SCADA
PLC Architecture
Industrial Instrumentation
Computer literate
Team player, adaptable and practical
Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work well on own initiative

€ *K negotiable based on experience.
